Hello, I'm Melissa Paxton - owner, designer & ceramic artist for MUDDY HEART.


I started Muddy Heart as a small shop to sell my hobby-made ceramics over 5 years ago.

My design inspiration comes from vintage objects, modern design & utilitarian purpose of items. My pieces are unique, with a minimal-modern aesthetic to them. My intent behind each design is Beauty + Function.


I design each piece with YOU in mind!, with the purpose to be used, loved and treasured. Each piece is intended to bring beauty into your life.


I craft each item one by one in my home studio in Cary, North Carolina. My studio is a small but inspiring space surrounded by oaks and pines and showered by beautiful sunshine.
